Shezi Xolani

Born in the south coast, KwaZulu-Natal, Shezi is a recipient of the Alan Paton Creative Writing Competition (poetry, 1992). He has a BA Journalism degree from Rhodes University, and studied Copywriting at Red & Yellow Creative School of Business. He began his career at TBWA Hunt Lascaris in 1997 as a junior copywriter here he received a Cinemark Young Creatives’ Award in the same year.
The following years he worked as a subeditor/online journalist for Avusa Online, a revise subeditor and chief subeditor for Sunday World, deputy chief subeditor for both Sunday World and Sowetan and a senior subeditor for The Times newspapers, all of which are part of Tiso Blackstar. An award-winning copywriter and poet, he has participated in concept development, copywriting, creative direction, business development and client service.
