Phakama is a Joburg-based journalist, specialising in production (subediting and proofreading). He studied BA (Journalism) at Rhodes University, copywriting at Red and Yellow Creative School of Business and for an honours degree in Publishing Studies at Wits University. He has worked for Sunday Times, Sportsday, The Star, Business Day and Sunday World.
At the Sunday Times he was the chief subeditor, responsible for overall production of the paper. Recently, he was the deputy editor of Sawubona, the inflight magazine for South African Airways (SAA). Phakama is the founder of Flamenco Publishing, a proud and reliable associate of Afrimage Communications.
